One for "military geek culture" (and GURPS WWII gaming) - Paul Allen has located the wreck of the IJN Musashi, one of the two largest battleships ever built.

I can't tell from the images on Paul Allen's site whether the Musashi is in one piece.
It's still to early to know what's going to come of this discovery - but I'm hoping the wreck becomes a memorial to the 1000+ crew who went down with the ship.
