Manufacturing Rules

G'day, new to the forum here. I've browsed this place for a while, as there's an amazing amount of useful material on these forums. However, I've searched for this particular topic and have come up dry.



I'm running a science fiction, merchant-capitalism in spaaaaace game, with the majority of the material sourced from High Tech, Ultra Tech, and a tiny bit fro Bio-tech.



What's the problem? Manufacturing. The players want to manufacture some of their own trade goods with raw materials they acquire.

There's just one problem, the manufacturing rules in Ultra Tech 4e have some problems.

Since things are based on price, the M16 ($550) has a shorter production time and lower production cost than the Colt Government, aka M1911 pistol ($850). That doesn't seem right at all, unless there's something about the M16 that makes it far far easier to produce than the Colt M1911.



Are there more recent, detailed manufacturing rules, perhaps in some issue of pyramid?
