I was wondering if y'alls could help me understand why having less than the minimum ST for a given ranged weapon affects the ability to hit the target.
Obviously, a ST 8 character simply cannot akimbo Ma Deuces from the hip; but a 12ga shotgun is neither significantly heavier nor harder to aim than a .410 bore.
I could understand a penalty on subsequent shots, like an increase in recoil proportional to the lack of ST, but not a flat penalty on all shots including the first. Whether the shooter is strong enough to handle the recoil of the first shot doesn't matter, the bullets have left the barrel and are on their way to whatever the weapon was aimed at long (relatively speaking) before the recoil affects the alignment of the gun.
Am I missing something?
