What restrictions are there on the items that a hireling with a race or class use?
We had a disagreement during a game. A couple of people thought they could ONLY use items that are usable by their race/class only (e.g. Staff of Napalm for Wizard Hireling, Bow of Many Ribbons for Elf Hireling).
The other side believe they can use any item not specifically restricted to their race/class, as the card reads "can use any item legal to use by <race/class>. So a Wizard Hireling could use Flaming Armor, the logic being that it would be legal for a player who is a Wizard to use it.
This mostly (completely?) pertains to Need For Steed. We're not debating the Hireling in the base set or any sidekick/mook etc that specifies what they can use nor are we trying to have them use items when they don't say they can.
