4.00 TURNS

4.01 General. Ogre is played in turns. The precise sequence for each turn depends on the scenario being played. During his turn, each player may move any or all of his units, and fire with any or all of them, as long as each unit fires only once and (except for GEVs) moves only once.

4.02 Turn Sequence.

*Movement. Any or all of the player's units may move. In the starting scenarios, of course, the Ogres side has only one unit!

*Fire. The player's Ogres may fire each remaining weapon once. Any or all of his regular units may fire once.

*GEV second movement. Te players' GEVs may take their second (3-hex) movement.

*Recovery. Any of the other player's armor units which were disabled on the previous turn become un-disabled.

The other player now begins their turn.

4.03 Multiplayer Sequences. A game with more than two players will use a similar sequence, with players moving in the same order each turn. Each attacking player, in turn, moves and resolves combat; then each defending player, in turn, moves and resolves combat. Players on the same side may take their fire phase together to combine fire.

What is the official rule for determining Initiative in a Non-Scenario game?

The official rules say is:

"Ogre is played in turns."

"The precise sequence for each turn depends on the scenario being played."

"A player's turn consists of four steps:"

"The other player now begins his turn."

"A game with more than two players will use a similar sequence, with players moving in the same order each turn."

To clarify, this means that in Non-Scenario games, players roll to determine who goes first, with the highest roll going first, the next highest going next, ect.

This Initiative order is then used for the rest of the game. That is, when the last player goes, the turns are restarted with whoever had highest Initiative...right?

I ask, because in Non-Scenario OGRE games past I've played, we would roll for new Initiative after each Initiative round ended, instead of repeating the same order the whole game.

Is that probably not a good idea for this game?
