So, I'm sure this has probably been done before but I'm a new member to the forum and was feeling nostalgic. I wanted to share some thoughts about my first GURPS character and read about some other people's first characters as well.
So, I started playing GURPS with the first edition way back in 1986 and the very first character I created was named Rick Seaside. He was actually going to be an NPC in my Space campaign and act as the leader of the group (so everyone could get the hang of GURPS). I originally envisioned him as a cool guy that was liked and respected by his teammates. As time went by and editions evolved, Rick developed a personality of his own and changed quite a bit from what I first envisioned.
He started off as a 150 point character. He was originally designed to be an a gentleman who didn't curse and always treated the ladies with respect. I no longer have his 1st edition character sheet, but here is the basics from his beginning as a 3rd edition character.
ST 13
DX 13
IQ 13
HT 13
Advantages
Handsome
Danger Sense
Status Lvl 2
Comfortable
Disadvantages
Overconfident
Jealous
Enemy (crime syndicate) 9 or below
Gentleman's Code
Quirks
Likes Julie
Respectful to Women
Doesn't Curse
Various skills (think Han Solo like)
But things changed as they often do...
