This advantage has been around since the earliest incarnation of GURPS, but it has never been touted as anything other than a mundane ability.
In practice, I do not think a real human could actually determine north without some environmental cues. They might be subtle, like wind patterns, vegetation, ambient light on a cloudy day, or attention to body position changes, but they would be there. The direction knowledge is really coming from Navigation skill or Area Knowledge. No one could do it blindfolded after spinning around a few times, which seems to be what this Advantage allows.
I've never seen any literature to support this ability outside of Robin Baker's unreproduceable study. So why isn't it considered Exotic or Supernatural?
