I ran my event today and while it wasn't the smashing success I was hoping it would be, it was a success. So let's start with the thing everyone wants.. the pictures! You can find them all right here on imgur.

For those of you who are interested in the documentation side of things, here is a link to the info packets I put together for all the drivers.

We had a total of 5 people (including myself) who played today, which is the only part of this whole thing that was a little disappointing as I was expecting at least 2 more people, and hoping for 3-4 more. But that did not in any way stop us from having a freaking BLAST!

The original plan was 2 qualifying rounds followed by a Championship round. When the first round started we had 2 players, so I went and ran through it and they had a great time. Two more showed up later and instead of running through another qualifying round we just went straight to the Championship round and I joined in to make it 5 drivers. Two of them had only played 1-2 times prior, one never played, and the other hasn't played in 20 years, so we were all in the same boat.

We had a great time and generated a lot of talk in the store. Many people stopped to look and ask questions and were very interested in it. After speaking with the store owner not only are we going to do it again, but he is going to let us store the pieces for the arena floor there at the store, which will make it so much easier!

For those thinking of running an event like this, it is a lot of work, but a ton of fun. I am already planning on how I can make the next event better. And for those that notice the spreadsheet I am using to keep track of things, I will share that as well, once I make it better. :)
