Very Fine Knives?

I'm statting up a TL8 character who is former USAF Pararescue, and it seems to me that he'd probably have a good stout knife. Now TL8 (And TL7 for that matter) blades are Fine by default, but my question is, can a knife be made Very Fine? It says that only fencing weapons and swords cna be Very Fine, but give that the Knife skill is listed with the other sword skills, and that good steel is good steel no matter how long the blade is, you could make a case for the inclusion of knives in that category, at least for these purposes. Has this question come up for anyone else?
