I'm working on a friend's character for Prime Directive/4e and I'm finding it pretty much impossible to stay within the suggested point totals given the cost of all the templates, and the suggested minimums for any role whatsoever, beyond 'cook's lackey'.
It is not possible to make an Adorian Marine Officer who has Tactical Command 'certification' for under ~250 or more points.
Every single 'certification' suggestion will put you either into 'elite' territory (according to the Prime Directive character point suggestions) or well beyond it, even if he were a human being he'd still be over 70 points higher than the suggested 125 point range.
What's the deal? Bad math on their part? Because I am pretty sure I am not missing anything. It is literally impossible to meet those qualifications in the point allocations they give you - half a dozen or more 15s in skills, for example. Unless I were to allow players to have ~100+ points in disads, which would just be ridiculous. The Skills total ALONE is over 150 points.
