Face Mask Question for [LT], [LT Instant Armor], [Loadouts: LT]

I am having trouble understanding the coverage rules for full face masks in Low Tech and its various armor supplements. The main problem that I am having is understanding why full face visors in these books do not seem to cover the jaw (roll of 1 on 1d6) when the types of helmets that they are simulating seem to me to cover the jaw. Some of the most obvious examples of this are:

-The full face visor on LT pg. 112 protects the face 5/6 of the time, but there are no rules for one that works 6/6 (the glaring exception to this is a Full Helm, which protects the face all the time and is actually lighter than a Bascinet with a visor by the armor rules of LT [at 30% cost and weight of torso armor for the full helm instead of 31.25% of torso armor for the bascinet+visor (25% torso armor + 25% of the bascinet total weight)]).

-The third Crusade Helme on Loadouts: LT pg 29, when the image associated with the helmet specifically looks to cover a little below the jawline, but the note says it only covers on 2-6, and 1 is the jaw.

-The Japanese Somen on Loadouts: LT pg. 33 description says it covers the full face, but the note says it only covers on 2-6.

-The visiere option for the 14th-century French Chevalier on Loadouts: LT pg. 38 only covers on 2-6 (the baviere covers on 1) when the associated image shows a helm where the visiere comes down below the chin.

There are probably other examples of this as well, and I am wondering what this is intended to simulate, as it seems to be a thought-out, intentional choice? It even makes sense to me in some cases, like the visor on the 15th-Century German Ritter on pg. 40, but that is part of a sallet, which is much shorter than the other face masks mentioned above, specifically not covering the mouth and jaw, and yet the sallet has the same protection chance as the full face visor helms above (2-6 on a d6).

Does anyone have any insight on why this decision was made and how I am supposed to visualize these face masks' protective characteristics when they appear to cover the jawline but the rules do not have them doing so?

Thanks!
